This beginning Spanish course was developed by the U.S. State Department's Foreign Service Institute (FSI) specifically for our diplomats.. the very people who must learn a language quickly and effectively. We know it works because thousands of people have successfully used this course to learn Spanish entirely on their own.

The voices you hear on the audio program are native-born speakers who provide a guided program of learning with pauses to allow you to respond. The course will repeat the same phrase time after time with no change in inflection until you have mastered the expression. With this course you can learn Spanish in as little as 25 minutes a day!

While the Spanish taught is that of a well-educated native of Latin America, the pronunciation is "neutral", in that it is not specifically derived from one country. By the time you finish this course, you'll be able to understand and make yourself understood anywhere in the Spanish-speaking world.
